Overview

The program aims to:

  • help practices engage eligible health workers in areas of greatest need
  • support eligible health workers in promoting preventative health and education programs, chronic disease management and care coordination and supported self-management.

The WIP – Practice Stream includes:

  • quarterly incentive payments to engage eligible health professionals
  • a rural loading of up to 50%
  • an annual loading for practices providing general practitioner services to Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Gold Card holders.

The amount a practice gets depends on the:

  • practice size
  • type of eligible health professionals
  • average hours eligible health professionals work each week
  • type of practice and its location.

Check if you can apply

To be eligible, your general practice must:

  • be fully accredited or registered for accreditation against the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners Standards
  • employ a full or part time general practitioner (GP)
  • maintain at least $10 million in public liability insurance cover for the main location and each additional practice location.
