Indigenous business owners can register as an Indigenous corporation through the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC). Indigenous corporations are eligible for additional benefits.
An Indigenous-controlled group may become incorporated to:

- provide legal assistance to First Nations people
- develop First Nations infrastructure
- promote art, performance or music.
