Who is this for?

WA agribusinesses or those looking to relocate to WA.

Overview

This scheme is aimed Western Australian agribusinesses (or businesses relocating or expanding to WA) that:

  • are undertaking value adding to WA primary production post-harvest
  • have their main source of income (more than 50%) from the production or value adding of WA primary produce
  • which are already exporting or planning to export within the next 2 years
  • can demonstrate high growth potential

There are 2 streams of funding available:

  • Capital expenditur
    • grants of between $250,000 and $750,000 to support capital expenditure related to the expansion of value adding of primary production in Western Australia
  • De-risking investmen
    • grants of between $50,000 and $150,000 towards de-risking investment in value adding enterprises
    • helps with the costs associated with feasibility studies, business plans and approvals to expand in, or relocate to, Western Australia

Businesses can apply for both components but can only be awarded 1 grant in this funding round.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • be a private sector business (including incorporated trustees), public company, grower cooperative, or similar organisation
  • have an Australian business number (ABN)
  • be registered for goods and services tax (GST)
  • derive your main source of revenue (50% or more) from the production or processing of agriculture, food or beverage products
  • have been operating for a minimum of two years
  • be undertaking a project that is located in, or looking to relocate to, Western Australia, including the Perth metropolitan area
  • have been operating for a minimum of 2 years
