Complex aviation work becoming more efficient


Australian technology start-up 1Ansah Pty Ltd aims to become the Google for aviation maintenance and engineering – the go-to intelligence for maintenance, repair and overhaul services for aircraft.

Any organisation involved in aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul – anywhere in the world, will be able to use 1Ansah’s advanced technologies to facilitate and enable efficiencies in the work of skilled engineers.

Basically, Australian IT brilliance and 30 years of experience in aviation is creating a suite of smart information technology and data gathering to help skilled workers keep aircraft in A1 condition.

This library of knowledge allows for easier and quicker trouble-shooting on maintenance and repair and a less complex way to search for instructional documents and data. It is an IT application which is based on artificial intelligence.

The application retains the expertise and knowledge of the engineers using it, but also the learned characteristics of an aircraft’s propensity for faults.

1Ansah is a privately-owned software business that was founded in September 2012 by Anant Sahay, and started operations in early 2016.

Our AMRIT suite of products can improve the accuracy of information and reduce the time spent in front of a computer console, per aircraft defect researched, considerably. On an aircraft with a list of 20-30 defects, it will save 2-3 days of high-priced engineers’ time.

AMRIT’s range of technologies used require vast skills and Anant says this will lead to jobs.

In November 2016, the business was awarded an Accelerating Commercialisation grant.

The $250,000 grant is supporting a one-year, commercialisation project aimed at generating sales via a series of proof-of-concept trials with prospective clients.

Large maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organisations in Australia and South-East Asia are trialling the product.

AMRIT allows the customer to ingest and store all forms of available data and provides a comprehensive internal search and delivery mechanism.

Air Transport Training College of Singapore and 1Ansah are planning to jointly develop a Master Course for middle management of maintenance, repair and overhaul companies in Singapore.

1Ansah received the “2017 Global Commercial Aviation Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) IT Solutions Enabling Technology Leader” award by the industry analyst, Frost & Sullivan.

Besides Accelerating Commercialisation assistance, the Entrepreneurs’ Programme is also supporting 1Ansah under its Business Growth Services and Innovation Connections elements.

1Ansah is collaborating with the University of Technology Sydney, and AusIndustry’s Innovation Connection Facilitator, on a Parts Recognition System for Airbus Australia.

This project will lead to jobs for Australians.

As our business grows, this component will require skilled Australian engineers to enhance and tailor the solution and maintain it for customers, right across the globe. It will certainly create more jobs in Australia.

Anant Sahay started his business following 30 years’ experience in aviation information technology systems. He had worked for a variety of companies including Gulf Air, Emirates and IBM.

1Ansah is based in Sydney, with a United States’ office based in Southern California. The 1Ansah team is currently working with a number of the world’s biggest airlines and MRO businesses in the Middle East, Asia and Pacific and Europe.

These include Emirates, Gulf Air, Malaysian Airlines, Air China, Rolls Royce, Bombardier, Embraer, Air New Zealand, Saudi Arabian Airline, Qantas and Eva Air.
