Market Diversification and Resilience Grants provide agriculture, food and fishing exporters and their supply chain partners with matched funding to help them diversify into new markets and purchase new equipment.

Who is this for?

Queensland-based agriculture, food and fishing exporters and their supply chain partners.

Overview

This program is intended to support agriculture, food and fishing exporters and their critical supply chain partners that have been impacted by the coronavirus outbreak.

There are 2 funding streams available for:

  • new equipment purchases - up to $7500, applicants must contribute 25% of the total cost of the equipment
  • projects - up to $50,000, applicants must contribute 50% of the total project costs

Examples of eligible equipment purchases include, but are not limited to:

  • freezers
  • refrigerators
  • vacuum packaging machines
  • storage equipment
  • filleting machines

Project activities include, but are not limited to:

  • market evaluation studies
  • market visits
  • staff training
  • new equipment, such as refrigeration
  • boat modifications necessary to meet market requirements

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, your organisation must be one of the following:

  • a Queensland-based agriculture, food or fishing exporter
  • a Queensland-based critical supply chain partner (e.g. fishing business, producer, grower, grower collective, wholesaler) to a Queensland-based agriculture, food or fishing exporter
  • a not-for profit industry organisation working with Queensland-based agriculture, food and fishing exporters

Additionally your organisation must be:

  • a small to medium sized business employing less than 200 full time equivalent employees
  • registered and operating in Queensland, have an Australian business number (ABN) and be registered for goods and services tax (GST)
  • trading viably for at least the past 2 years
