Small Business Continuity Grant Program TAS

The Business Continuity Program provides small businesses with funding to help them access professional, qualified advice on business continuity planning.

Tasmanian small businesses.


Funding is available to help small businesses access the services of a suitably qualified person to advise on business continuity planning to help them prepare for a rapid recovery when the coronavirus situation eases.

Funding may be used to access:

  • financial advice (financial planning, credit advice) typically requiring the provider to hold an Australian Financial Services Licence, or Australian Credit Licence
  • specialist accounting, legal and business planning advice about cash-flow, risk management, diversifying/pivoting the business, value-adding to products and services

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • have an Australian business number (ABN) which must have been active on or before 29 February 2020 and continues to be active
  • have employed fewer than 20 full time equivalent staff (FTEs) at 29 February 2020
  • have a total payroll less than $1.25 million for the 2018-19 financial year (ie not incurring payroll tax)
  • have demonstrated an annual turnover of more than $50,000 (excluding GST) for 2018-19 or 2019-20 financial year OR for recently established businesses, estimate that annual turnover will exceed $50,000 (excluding GST) in the 2020-21 financial year
  • operate in Tasmania with business owners that reside in Tasmania

Please note that businesses who have received a grant under Round 1 of this program are ineligible to apply again.
