Overview

The Technology Assistance Grant program will provide a rebate for up to 50% of costs for electronic identification (eID) infrastructure and associated activities within saleyards and sheep and/or beef cattle processors located in South Australia.

Examples of eligible activities include:

Purchase and installation of eID infrastructure, including but not limited to:

  • wand and panel readers
  • software and associated data logging and data management equipment that is synchronised, and uploads to the NLIS database
  • laptop computers or tablets linked to relevant software
  • noise shielding
  • drafting race with panel readers and installation

External consultancy and staff training costs:

  • engagement of external consultant for advice on eID infrastructure options
  • engagement of a suitably qualified trainer to undertake staff training in how to use the eID infrastructure funded through this grant application

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must be an eligible saleyard or sheep and/or beef cattle processor and:

  • have a current Property Identification Code (PIC) registered as either a saleyard or an abattoir/meat processor
  • be a legal entity capable of entering into a grant agreement with the Minister and/or Delegate
  • have a current Australian business number (ABN)
  • be registered for goods and services tax (GST)
  • have not received funding from another South Australian/Australian Government program in respect of the same activities (in part or whole)
  • ensure all infrastructure claimed under this program is installed on the property associated with the PIC specified in the application
