Event type: Training

The Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) within the Department of Defence has developed a new two and a half day training course about liability in Australian Standard for Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) based contracts.

Training program overview

The ‘Contract Risk Training Module 5: ASDEFCON Liability’ is a pilot course that will cover:

  • Defence Liability Principles and key underlying concepts
  • the Defence Liability Risk Assessment template and related exercises

Designed for Defence and industry personnel, the pilot course presents a valuable networking opportunity and a way for CASG to gather feedback to improve the quality of their course.

Who should attend?

CASG is seeking industry personnel with some experience in Defence contract liability to attend the three pilot courses in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne respectively. The purpose of the pilot courses is to foster useful feedback on the course materials and presentation, in order to improve the course.

What if I can't attend the pilot course?

While pilot participant places are limited, this new course is intended to be offered to industry as part of the standard suite of Defence procurement and contracting professionalisation courses.

How to apply

If you are interested in attending a pilot course, or if you are interested in attending the course when it is offered as a standard course, please email and indicate your preferred training location.

Upcoming sessions

Some of these courses are at Defence establishments, can I attend a pilot course if I don’t have a Defence pass?

Yes. Industry attendees who do not have a Defence pass are welcome; they will be signed in as visitors and will be escorted while on Defence premises.
