The Force Exploration Hub (FE Hub) is looking to collaborate with partners in industry and academia to understand how the Australian Defence Force (ADF) can employ and counter Robotics and Autonomous Systems. The concept will address the question:-

How will the ADF future force exploit Robotics and Autonomous Systems to gain advantages throughout the spectrum of conflict, and how can the ADF counter threats posed by Robotics and Autonomous Systems to the future force?

What is the FE Hub?

The FE Hub is a virtual organisation within the Force Design Division (part of ADF Headquarters) that brings together a diverse range of subject matter experts to develop ideas and evidence for change that will help position the future force for success.

What is the Concept for Robotics and Autonomous Systems 2040 looking for?

The FE Hub welcomes:

  • advice and assessments on how Defence can employ Robotics and Autonomous Systems
  • industry perspectives on the risk to developing and sustaining Robotics and Autonomous Systems
  • opportunities to develop innovative mitigation strategies to help deliver actionable outcomes

This input reflects the vital role that industry partners play in the development of future capabilities, along with the research and analysis done by the academic sector.

FE Hub supporting collaboration

Early and regular collaboration can support a shared understanding of respective needs and expectations between the ADF and industry partners. As part of this, the Concept for Robotics and Autonomous Systems 2040 will determine how the ADF can work with industry to develop capabilities that leverage and counter this emerging technology for strategic advantage.

How do I get involved?

Interested individuals and organisations are invited to contact to gain additional information (such as the terms of reference) and register expressions of interest to contribute.

Expressions of interest close Friday 29 May 2020.
