Navigating industrial and workplace relations changes in 2023

Workplace relations are full of complexities, and during 2023, a number of changes will come into effect. Employers therefore need to be across an ever-changing and evolving way of managing their workforces.

The Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Secure Jobs, Better Pay) Act 2022 (Cth) (the ‘Amendment Act’) received Royal Assent on December 6, 2022 and amended the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), the main piece of employment legislation for private sector employers.

The Amendment Act changes workplace relations laws relating to bargaining, job security, gender equality, compliance and enforcement, workplace conditions and protections, and workplace relations institutions.
