Overview

The Accelerating Trade Grant Program provides Tasmanian businesses with funding to help them undertake activities which will lead to new trade opportunities.

Eligible activities may include:

  • market research and business-matching services
  • promotional activities and materials
  • in-bound buyer visits to Tasmania
  • travel to an off-island market
  • on-ground expenditure.

2 tiers of grants are available, based on the applicant's annual sales turnover:

  • Tier 1 – up to $10,000, turnover of between $150,000 and $20 million
  • Tier 2 – up to $20,000, turnover of between $300,000 and $20 million.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • have an Australian business number (ABN) and be registered for goods and services tax (GST)
  • be producing, transforming or value-adding to products and/or services in Tasmania and be dispatching them from Tasmania
  • demonstrate the necessary capabilities, resources and capacity to undertake the trade development activity
  • have an annual sales turnover greater than $150,000 and less than $20 million in at least one of the last 2 financial years to be eligible as a Tier 1 applicant
  • have an annual sales turnover greater than $300,000 and less than $20 million in at least one of the last 2 financial years to be eligible as a Tier 2 applicant
  • be running a financially viable business.
