COVID-19 Business Hardship Grant SA

This program provides funding to SA employing and non-employing businesses whose turnover has been significantly impacted by COVID-19 restrictions.

What do you get?

One-off grants of $2,000 for non-employing businesses and $6,000 for employing businesses.

Who is this for?

South Australian small to medium businesses.


Funding is available for small to medium businesses that have been significantly impacted by COVID-19 restrictions and that have not been eligible for previous South Australian Government support programs since July 2021.

Businesses must have experienced a 50% reduction in turnover when compared to a relevant 2-week benchmark period in 2019 or 2021.

Grants of $6,000 for employing business and $2,000 for non-employing businesses will be available.

What are the eligibility criteria?

At the start of the restriction period of 20 July 2021, businesses must:

  • have a valid and active Australian business number (ABN)
  • have been operating in SA
  • have a total Australian grouped payroll of less than $10 million in the 2019-20 financial year
  • not be engaged in illegal activities.
