Funding is available to workplaces that create innovative solutions to either prevent musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) or improve return to work outcomes for injured workers and their workplace.

Grant applicants' innovative solutions may aim to:

  • increase workplace awareness and understanding of MSDs
  • support workers to be actively involved in their recovery and return to work
  • improve health and wellbeing outcomes for workers with MSDs and increase industries' capabilities to manage MSDs
  • develop a workplace culture that values return to work, drives positive and supportive workers and adopts a tailored worker-based approach that addresses barriers to reintegration
  • improve workplace productivity.

What are the eligibility criteria?

This program is available to individual organisations, incorporated entities and individual researchers, provided they have a formal research sponsor. It is not available to organisations operating licensed premises or gaming machines, government agencies, departments or statutory authorities.

To be eligible for this funding, applicants must:

  • operate within Tasmania
  • have an Australian business number (ABN)
  • have current workers compensation policies
  • hold relevant industry insurances and certifications
  • hold appropriate insurance cover
  • be solvent.
