Who is this for?

Western Australian food and beverage businesses.


This program promotes safe socialisation and creation of community vibrancy through the activation of footpaths, and other underused public and private spaces.

Rebates are available for purchases that relate to eligible alfresco dining improvements, including:

  • temporary ground surfaces
  • traffic mitigation and barriers
  • generators
  • installation of outdoor power points
  • lighting, including decorative lighting such as festoons
  • additional furniture fit out of the outdoor area
  • weather protection for shade and rain
  • parklets or similar mobile seating areas
  • heaters, fans and misters
  • additional points of sale.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, food and beverage businesses must:

  • have an active Australian business number (ABN)
  • be located in Western Australia
  • be a pub, tavern, bar, hotel, restaurant or cafĂ©
  • have incurred eligible expenses for establishing, expanding or improving an outdoor dining area from 1 March to 31 May 2022
  • have a permit or approval to operate an outdoor dining area valid for at least 6 months from 1 March 2022 and/or consent of the landowner
  • have a minimum revenue of $50,000 per annum (excluding GST) and an Australia-wide payroll cap of less than $4 million.
