Australia China Council

The Australia China Council provides businesses with funding to carry out projects within the Australian Studies in China Program or in the areas of education, economic diplomacy and the arts to broaden and strengthen Australia-China relations.

What do you get?

Funding of up to $40,000.

Who is this for?

Businesses wanting to undertake projects that strengthen relations with China.

The Australia-China Council (ACC) aims to strengthen relations between Australia and China.

Grants support projects that will strengthen Australia-China relations in education, business, culture and the arts.

The funding priorities are:

  • education
  • economic diplomacy
  • arts and culture

Grants of $40,000 are available to fund innovative projects that align with the priorities of the ACC. Grants of over $40,000 are only awarded in exceptional circumstances.

If you are requesting for more than $40,000 in your application, you need to show that the project will make a long-term positive impact on:

  • the Australia-China relationship
  • the funding priorities of the ACC

ACC grants intend to provide modest funding to encourage partnerships between government, corporate sponsors and private donors. Applicants should show that they are seeking funding assistance from other sources.

The ACC has limited grant funds for each financial year. The ACC will consider how to best use the available funds across the applications received.
