The Business Hardship Package provides Northern Territory businesses affected by COVID-19 with financial relief from certain charges by government, local councils and some utility providers.

Overview
Territory businesses that can demonstrate substantial hardship due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) can apply to be on the hardship register to receive various concessions, including:
- waiving or deferring payment of payroll tax
- reducing utilities bills
- providing incentives for commercial landlords to reduce rents
- reducing or deferring council rates
- other relief which may be offered from time-to-time agreed to by the responsible minister
What are the eligibility criteria?
To be eligible, you must:
- be a legal entity and hold a valid Australian business number (ABN) as at 23 March 2020
- be a Northern Territory enterprise
- have an annual turnover of no more than $50 million
- have experienced a reduction of turnover of more than 30% due to COVID-19
