COVID-19 Hardship Payment ACT

This program provides financial support for ACT workers that miss work as a result of awaiting a PCR test result.

The grant is no longer available

What you get?

Payment amounts vary.

Who is this for?

ACT workers and self-employed individuals.

This payment is available if you are unable to work due to:

  • having to isolate due to awaiting your COVID-19 test result, or
  • being a carer or guardian for someone who needed to isolate following their test.

Under this initiative, a payment of $270 will be made to eligible workers who isolate while awaiting their PCR COVID-19 test result.

This payment covers up to 3 days in isolation. If an individual's test result takes longer than 3 days, they may be eligible to receive $90 per day for each additional day they await their result where it can be demonstrated that lost earnings would have exceeded that amount.

Applicants have 6 weeks to apply for the payment after their test.
