WasteSorted grants provide organisations with funding for projects that aim to avoid waste, recover more value and resources from waste, and protect the environment.

What do you get?

Up to $250,000.

Who is this for?

WA businesses, local governments, councils and organisations.


Funding is offered under 2 streams:

Recycling infrastructure

  • funding of up to $250,000
  • supports investment in recycling infrastructure

Community eduction

  • funding of up to $50,000
  • supports the development and implementation of projects that contribute towards improving knowledge about managing waste

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must be a Western Australian organisation classified as one of the following:

  • business (normally with at least 1 year of continuous operation)
  • local government
  • regional council
  • peak industry organisation
  • research and education organisation
  • community group
  • Western Australian state government agency

Funding is not available for:

  • projects, or parts of projects that are nearing completion
  • ongoing operational activities¬†
  • activities to meet legislative requirements
