The Disability Inclusion Grant provides funding for small businesses and organisations to promote social inclusion for people with disability through the removal of barriers to participation.

Funding of up to $20,000.

Who is this for?

ACT small businesses, community groups and not-for-profit organisations.


Funding is available to ACT small businesses, community groups, and organisations undertaking projects to enable inclusivity and accessibility to people with disability. Proposals that address physical, attitudinal, and/or communication barriers to access and inclusion will be considered.

Examples of proposals include:

  • assistance to develop a Disability Action and Inclusion Plan
  • targeted or general disability awareness training for volunteers, members and/or the public
  • converting brochures and reports to accessible formats
  • developing attitudinal awareness-raising resources
  • purchase of assistive technologies such as hearing loops and height adjustable equipment
  • physical modifications such as accessible bathroom upgrades or wheelchair ramp installations
  • wayfinding improvements
  • training staff in Auslan
  • installing automatic doors.

What are the eligibility criteria?

Applications will be accepted from:

  • community groups and clubs
  • not-for-profit organisations
  • small businesses (less than 20 employees).

Applicants must also:

  • have no overdue reporting obligations for any previous ACT Government grant round
  • be undertaking a project or activity that will be located primarily in the ACT for the benefit of primarily ACT residents
  • demonstrate how they will address barriers to access and inclusion for people with disability
  • not have received funding from another ACT Government source to deliver the same or similar project or activity.
