The Charter Boat Diversification Program provides funding to existing charter boat operators to help them improve their tourism offering.

What you get?

Funding of between $2,000 and $25,000.

Who is this for?

Existing South Australian charter boat operators.


Funding is available to help existing charter boat operators undertake projects that will enhance their tourism offering, including but not limited to:

  • improvement to vessel amenities for clients (e.g. fully private toilet, fridge, catering equipment, seating, shelter)
  • improving vessel accessibility (e.g. disabled access, non-slip surfaces)
  • marketing, promotions and booking management systems
  • equipment that provides capacity to deliver new customer experiences
  • vessel alterations to
    • support tag and release scientific work
    • enable the targeting of multiple species
    • facilitate new customer experiences
  • business plans to help with business diversification and resilience building

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • hold an active South Australian Charter Licence
  • have an Australian business number (ABN)
  • be able to provide a minimum funding co-contribution of 1:1
