The Immediate Work Grant provides not-for-profit and community organisations with funding to engage local businesses to do repairs, renovations and facility upgrades.

Northern Territory not-for-profit and community organisations.


Grants are available for not-for-profit and community organisations to engage local businesses to do repairs and maintenance, renovations and upgrades to their property and facilities (permanent physical improvements to land and/or buildings).

Local businesses engaged to undertake any works must be registered as an eligible service provider through the Tradie/Contractor Program.

The first $50,000 will be paid as a grant with no co-contribution required. For renovations exceeding $50,000, matched funding will be provided on a dollar-for-dollar basis up to a maximum of $100,000 total.

Excluded works under this program include:

  • security improvement works as defined under the Biz Secure and Alcohol Secure programs
  • buying solar photovoltaic (PV) panels or installing solar panels - e.g. rooftop solar
  • works carried out by the grant recipients on a ‘do-it-yourself’ basis or
  • works carried out by a business related to the grant recipient

What are the eligibility criteria?

To apply for the grant, you must be:

  • a not-for-profit and/or community organisation
  • operating in the Northern Territory (NT)
