JobSaver NSW

The JobSaver program provides fortnightly payments to NSW businesses, sole traders and not-for-profits impacted by recent COVID-19 restrictions.

Open
Close date: 18 Oct 2021.

What do you get?

Funding of between $1,000 and $100,000 per week.

Who is this for?

NSW businesses, sole traders and not-for-profits impacted by recent COVID-19 restrictions.

Overview

Eligible businesses and not-for-profit organisations with employees will receive automatic fortnightly payments backdated to cover costs incurred from week 4 of the Greater Sydney lockdown (from 18 July 2021 onwards). The 2021 COVID-19 Business Grant covers businesses impacted during the first 3 weeks of the Greater Sydney lockdown.

The payment will be equivalent to 40% of the weekly payroll for work performed in NSW:

  • minimum payment will be $1,500 per week
  • maximum payment will be $100,000 per week.

Larger businesses in the hospitality, tourism and recreation industries with a turnover more than $250 million and up to $1 billion may be eligible for a larger weekly payment under the JobSaver payment – large tourism, hospitality and recreation businesses scheme.

Weekly payroll should generally be determined by referring to the most recent Business Activity Statement (BAS) provided to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) prior to 26 June 2021 for the 2020-21 financial year.

If you’re a non-employing business, such as a sole trader, you may be eligible to receive a payment of $1,000 per week.

Funding may be used to cover business costs, including:

  • salaries and wages
  • utilities and rent
  • financial, legal or other advice
  • marketing and communications
  • perishable goods.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:
