What do you get?

Wage subsidies of up to $20,000 over 12 months.

Who is this for?

Victorian businesses, sole traders, social enterprises and organisations hiring eligible employees.

Overview

Wage subsidies are available for employers to take on new, eligible employees from the following priority groups:

  • women aged over 45 years
  • jobseekers who are long-term unemployed (unemployed for 6 months or more)
  • registered jobseekers
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
  • people with disability
  • people seeking asylum/refugees
  • newly arrived migrants from non-English speaking backgrounds
  • young people aged under 25
  • people over 45 years
  • veterans
  • people previously employed under the Working for Victoria initiative.

The subsidy amount paid will depend on each employee and whether the job is full-time or part-time.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • be operating in Victoria
  • have an Australian business number (ABN)
  • have a payroll of less than $20 million in the financial year immediately preceding the date when the application is made
  • comply with all employer responsibilities and workplace laws
  • be the direct employer of an employee from one or more of the priority groups.
