Overview
Expressions of interest are open for the Nature Fund. The purpose of the Nature Fund is to drive non-government investment into projects that benefit biodiversity by:
- improving habitat (preferred) or
- benefiting threatened and/or culturally significant species.
Matched funding is available for eligible projects on land of any tenure in Victoria.

The following organisations can apply for funding:
- not for profit organisations
- government agencies
- private sector businesses and agencies
- educational institutions
- local government authorities
- Incorporated Victorian Traditional Owner organisations or Aboriginal organisations.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- be delivering a project in Victoria
- be incorporated or a statutory entity with adequate financial systems in place to receive, manage and acquit government funding
- have appropriate risk identification and management systems
- have appropriate governance systems
- have public liability insurance of at least $10 million and personal accident insurance.
Eligible projects are those that:
- secure matched co-funding from non-government sources
- deliver benefits for Victorian biodiversity
- engage traditional owners.
