On-Farm Emergency Water Infrastructure Rebate Scheme NT

The On-Farm Emergency Water Infrastructure Rebate Scheme provides drought affected livestock farmers with a rebate to help with the costs of new water infrastructure for animal welfare needs.

What you get?

Funding of up to $25,000.

Who is this for?

NT drought affected livestock farmers.


This rebate may be used to help with the costs of purchasing, upgrading and installing emergency water infrastructure, including:

  • pipes, water tanks and troughs
  • water pumps
  • drilling a new working groundwater bore by an NT licensed driller
  • material or equipment necessary to install infrastructure (excluding the purchase of machinery)
  • any freight component to purchase and install the equipment
  • professional installation costs to install infrastructure.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • be part of a partnership, company or trust that spends more than 50% of their labour on, and gets more than 50% of their gross income from, a primary production enterprise
  • be a property owner, share-farmer or lessee in the grazing industry
  • own a property that has been affected by drought
  • have not introduced any livestock on to the property during the drought, including agisted livestock
  • require water infrastructure for genuine or imminent emergency animal welfare.
