On-Farm Energy Tier 2 Grants provide primary producers with matched funding to help them improve their on-farm energy efficiency.

What you get?

Matched funding of between $50,000 and $250,000.

Who is this for?

Victorian primary producers.


Funding is available for farmers who have undertaken an On-farm Energy Assessment, to help them undertake projects that make energy improvements across farm systems.

All funding must be matched by a minimum cash co-contribution of $1 for every $1 funded.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • be a legal entity with an Australian business number (ABN)
  • have a farm business located in Victoria that is either:
    • cultivating or propagating plants, fungi or their products or parts (including seeds, spores, bulbs and similar things) in any physical environment, or
    • maintaining animals for the purpose of selling them or their bodily produce, or
    • manufacturing dairy produce from raw milk, or
    • operating on-land aquaculture facilities
  • be in receipt of a type 2 On-Farm Energy Assessment undertaken as part of the Agriculture Energy Investment Plan, or an approved equivalent energy assessment
  • be able to meet the required cash contribution (minimum 50%).
