What you get?

Payment amounts vary up to a maximum of $1500.

Who is this for?

Tasmanian workers and self-employed individuals required to isolate or quarantine.


Payments are available for individuals who have been directed by Public Health to:

  • test and isolate whilst awaiting a COVID-19 PCR test result
  • quarantine as either a confirmed case or close contact of a confirmed case.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • be a Tasmanian resident
  • not be receiving Australian Government income support (Centrelink, Austudy)
  • have been tested for COVID-19 via a PCR test, or be the guardian or carer of someone who has been tested via a PCR test
  • have exhausted paid sick leave or carers leave entitlements, including any special pandemic leave, or have no entitlement to such leave – your leave entitlement/casual employment will be verified with your employer
  • be able to demonstrate that you have lost income and are not receiving any income or earnings while waiting for test results.
