The Emergency Bushfire Primary Industries Grant provides bushfire-affected primary producers in eligible local government areas with funding to help with clean-up and immediate restoration costs.

Funding of up to $75,000.

Who is this for?

Victorian farmers in bushfire-affected local government areas.


Farmers, fishers, private foresters and beekeepers affected by the recent bushfires in Victoria can apply for funding to go towards clean-up and restoration work.

The grant can go towards:

  • equipment and materials used in clean-ups
  • additional labour costs
  • disposing of damaged goods and injured or dead livestock
  • repairs to buildings (other than housing)
  • fencing repairs
  • replacing or repairing essential equipment
  • salvaging crops
  • treating livestock, poultry and aquaculture species
  • buying fodder, grain and feeds for livestock and poultry
  • purchasing or hiring equipment used to immediately resume business
  • replacing essential water used for firefighting
  • water cartage
  • safety inspections.

Funding cannot be used to repair damage:

  • to residential properties
  • covered under existing insurance policies.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • be located in an eligible local government area
  • earn more than 50% of your income from a combination of primary production and goods made directly from the primary production enterprise (e.g. wine)
  • spend part of your labour on primary production
  • have been carrying on your business at the time of the fires
  • not be a corporation.

Applicants that don't earn more than 50% of their income from primary production may be eligble if they meet certain criteria.
