Overview

This program provides tourism operators with individual guidance and specialised professional advice to help them:

  • look for new opportunities, markets or industries they can service
  • resize their business to meet new market conditions and opportunities
  • negotiate or exit property and supplier contracts
  • mothball their business until a future date such as when international visitors return
  • take steps to leave the tourism industry with dignity.

The Queensland Tourism Business Financial Counselling Service is a 3 stage process:

  • Stage 1: free Tourism Business Health Check
  • Stage 2: free Tourism Business Financial Counselling Service
  • Stage 3: 50% rebate on up to $5,000 of Tourism Business Professional Advice.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • be operating a tourism business
  • be headquartered in Queensland and primarily operate in Queensland
  • hold an Australian business number (ABN) and have continuously held that ABN and been registered for goods and services tax (GST) since 1 February 2020
  • have been operating before 1 February 2020
  • on 1 February 2020, employed between zero and 199 employees
  • be able to demonstrate that you received the JobKeeper payment between September 2020 and March 2021.
