Tasmanian tourism and hospitality businesses, identified as critical to regional visitor visitation.

Overview

Funding is available to assist strategically important tourism and hospitality businesses to help them meet ongoing operating costs such as salaries, rent, utilities, marketing and other overheads.

There are 3 tiers of funding available:

  • Tier 1 -  businesses with a turnover of between $200,000 and $999,999 per annum may be eligible for a grant of up to $20,000
  • Tier 2 -  businesses with a turnover of between $1 million and $1,499,999 per annum may be eligible for a grant of between $20,001 and $50,000
  • Tier 3 -  businesses with a turnover of $1.5 million or more per annum may be eligible for a grant of between $50,001 and $100,000

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • be a service provider in at least one of the following sectors:
    • accommodation
    • food and beverage
    • attractions (e.g. museums, zoos, wildlife centres)
    • experiences, tours and/or cruises
  • be a Tasmanian owned and operated business and play a role in attracting visitors to regional areas
  • have a continuously active Australian business number (ABN) from at least the commencement date of the turnover period selected (either the 2018-19 or 2019-20 financial year, or the 2019 calendar year)
  • have experienced a 30% reduction in turnover in the 2020 December quarter (October, November, December 2020), compared to the same period in 2019
  • intend to be open and operational throughout the 2021 winter period (June, July, August 2021) for a minimum of 3 days per week (notwithstanding future changes to COVID-19 travel restrictions)
  • intend to operate until at least 31 December 2021 or beyond with the assistance of the grant
