SME Summer Stock Guarantee NSW

This program provides funding to hospitality and retail businesses impacted by a COVID-19 NSW government public health order.

Funding of up to $20,000.

Who is this for?

NSW hospitality and retail businesses and not-for-profit organisations impacted by a public health order.


Hospitality and/or retail businesses that are forced to close for 7 consecutive days between 1 December 2021 and 31 January 2022 due to a NSW Government public health order, may be eligible for the SME (small and medium enterprise) summer stock guarantee.

The guarantee aims to help businesses recover the costs of any stock lost due to an enforced closure.

Eligible businesses will be able to apply for either:

  • a single grant payment of up to $20,000 to cover the loss of perishable stock
  • a single grant payment of up to $10,000 to cover non-perishable stock.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, hospitality and retail businesses and not-for-profits organisations must:

  • have an active Australian business number (ABN) as at 1 October 2021
  • have been operating in a local government area specified in a public health order from 1 December 2021
  • have an aggregated turnover of between $75,000 and $50 million (inclusive) for the year ended 30 June 2020, or 30 June 2021
  • operate in an industry specified in the public health order
  • as the result of a lockdown have had their perishable stock wasted or unable to be used, or their non-perishable stock lost some, or all of its value.
