Skilling South Australia

Skilling South Australia provides several initiatives so businesses can access extra support to continue skills training their apprentices through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Various funding initiatives and support measures.

Who is this for?

South Australian businesses that employ apprentices or trainees.


The extra support available to businesses includes:

  • Equipped for Growth - up to $5000 for hiring a new apprentice.
  • Equipped for Work - up to $1500 reimbursed for equipment and services, including online training and working from home expenses when you hire an apprentice (including hiring an existing worker as an apprentice), or if your business has more than 25 employees. A funding increase from $1000 to $1500 is available until 31 July 2020.
  • Equipped for Training - a travel and accommodation allowance associated with hiring an apprentice or trainee for businesses in rural or regional South Australia.
  • Group Training Boost – up to $5200 off the Group Training Organisation charge out rate.
