Funding for training tour guides in the Northern Territory

Overview

The program will reimburse businesses with up to $5,000 upon completion of the following training components:

• HLTAID011: Provide First Aid, or HLTAID005: Provide First Aid in Remote Situations
• Heavy vehicle training and license (Light Rigid, Medium Rigid or Heavy Rigid)
• MAR20321: Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal)
• MARSS00008: Shipboard Safety Skill Set
• TLIC0023: Operate a four-wheel drive vehicle (including defensive driving and 4WD training recovery)
• Becoming a Tour Guide (Savannah Guides)
• Micro-Credentials Tour Guide Course (Tour Guides Australia)
• EcoGuide Certification (Savannah Guides).

Check if you can apply

To be eligible for the program, businesses must:

• be legally constituted
• be an Australian-registered business and a Territory enterprise
• have a permanent presence in the Northern Territory
• have a touring product or products that require tour guides
• have a current Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) listing
• have an online booking system, be in the process of implementing one or provide a strong business case as to why a booking system is not required for your business
• be a member of a peak industry body.
