The Tourism Accommodation Support Program provides accommodation providers in regional Victoria with direct financial support if they have been affected by cancellations arising from the current metropolitan local lockdown.

Payments of up to $225 per booking night for each cancelled booking.

Overview

Eligible accommodation providers including hotels, motels, camping grounds and private holiday rentals can receive financial support if they have been impacted by cancellations arising from the current travel restrictions placed on residents from Melbourne's hot zones.

This support applies to bookings made before 3pm on 30 June 2020 for travel between 11.59pm on 1 July and 11.59pm on 29 July.

What are the eligibility criteria?

Accommodation operators in regional Victoria (inclusive of the 48 Regional and Rural Councils and the Yarra Ranges and Mornington Peninsula) can apply for a refund.

Refunds will be provided if all of the following criteria are satisfied and can be evidenced:

  • a refund has been made for 100% of the booking amount
  • no cancellation fee or other tariff was charged to cancel the booking
  • the cancelled booking was not re-booked or filled
  • the booking is from a resident of a hot zone suburb
