This program provides funding to projects in WA that realise agriculture's potential to sequester carbon in the landscape and contribute to the growth of the WA carbon farming market.

Who is this for?

Farmers, not-for-profit entities and carbon farming developers.

Overview

There are 2 funding streams:

Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs)

  • Offers up-front funding for new Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF) carbon farming projects that deliver one or more priority co-benefits in return for an agreed number of ACCUs.

Future Carbon

  • Provide grants to establish innovative carbon sequestration pilot projects, activities and trials to support the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices.

What are the eligibility criteria?

Eligible businesses and entities include:

  • commercial farm property owners
  • not-for-profit entities undertaking a project under commercial arrangements with the owner/s of a farm property or properties
  • carbon farming developers undertaking a project under commercial arrangements with the owner/s of a farm property or properties.

Projects must be:

  • new (i.e. not commenced)
  • additional (i.e. would not have occurred without this financial support)
  • undertaken in the South West land Division of WA.
