Wine Export Grants

Wine Export Grants provide small to medium wine businesses with a reimbursement of 50% of eligible export promotion expenses to secure new international distribution channels, particularly in China and the USA.

This program aims to build the capability and capacity of small and medium wine businesses to capture export opportunities, particularly in China and the United States of America.

Eligible expenses may include:

  • airfares
  • marketing and advertising costs
  • trade fairs, seminars and in-store promotions
  • on ground and incidental costs (accommodation, interpreter services, vehicle hire, telephone and internet costs, foreign exchange currency costs, meals laundry, taxis in countries other than Australia)

Funding of up to $25,000 is available. This will be calculated at 50% of total eligible expenses plus an allowance of AUD$350 per day for all on ground and incidental costs.

Funding is offered as a reimbursement for costs already incurred. Only costs incurred on or after 1 July 2020 will be eligible for claiming.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • be a wine producer in Australia
  • have an aggregated turnover of less than $20 million, including an export turnover of less than $5 million, during the financial year immediately preceding your application
  • be promoting your wine product for export

Eligibility criteria also apply to the expenses being claimed.
