Victorian wine grape producers impacted by the 2019-20 bushfires.

Overview

This funding supports wine grape producers who have suffered crop damage from smoke taint caused by the 2019-20 bushfires, and who are located outside the areas that are eligible for the Emergency Bushfire Response in Primary Industries (EBRPI) and Small Business Bushfire Support grants.

Examples of eligible costs, include but are not limited to:

  • business recovery including ongoing business costs (e.g. utilities, salaries and rent)
  • planning for business growth and diversification of markets
  • marketing and communications activities
  • improvements to make the business more resilient to future disasters

Applicants are required to make a dollar-for-dollar co-contribution to the value of the grant applied for.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • be a wine grape producer
  • hold an Australian business number (ABN) and have held that ABN at the time of the eligible disaster
  • be located in Victoria
  • be located outside of the local government areas eligible for the Emergency Bushfire Response in Primary Industries (EBRPI) grant or the Small Business Bushfire Support grant
  • have had the 2020 vintage of wine grape harvest tainted by smoke from the Victorian 2019-20 bushfires commencing 21 November 2019 and be able to provide evidence to support that claim
  • have suffered a decline in revenue or grapes harvested of 40% or more in a relevant 3-month period (compared to a relevant 3-month period in the previous year) since 21 November 2019
