Work Start Incentives provide Queensland employers with an incentive payment if they employ an eligible trainee or apprentice.
Applications may be made at any time.

Overview
Work Start Incentives provides employers that are ineligible for the Back to Work program with one-off payments when they employ eligible trainees or apprentices.
The trainee or apprentice must have previously participated in a Skilling Queenslanders for Work program.
A one-off incentive of $10,000 is available capped at a maximum of five Work Start incentive payments each financial year.
What are the eligibility criteria?
To be eligible, you must:
- be an eligible private sector employer (includes group training organisations and non-government organisations)
- employ an eligible trainee or apprentice from 1 July 2020
