Funding to establish asbestos disposal points in Victoria

Overview

This program aims to increase access to waste facilities that support the safe disposal of non-friable asbestos waste.

Funding may be used for projects costs, including:

• capital purchases
• pre-construction (site preparation) such as site cleaning, earthworks or site accessibility works
• permit, licensing and approval costs
• staff costs
• consultancy costs or contract work.

Applications will be accepted from those in the waste industry and/or local government.

Applicants must have a project located in an area where there is currently no access to an asbestos waste disposal option for small quantities of asbestos for domestic and commercial customers within specified drive times.
