A quest to reduce ecological footprint via e-commerce
AusIndustry supporting... ECO.Modern Essentials
Timing has played a pivotal role in the growth of ECO. Modern Essentials. The Gold Coast-based producer of 100% pure oils for wellbeing.
Not knowing COVID-19’s impending disruption, ECO. Modern Essentials spent 2019 busily building the right e-commerce platform to move their B2B model to a customer-direct focus. It was a move that coincided with the world’s huge shift to online consumerism.
ECO. Modern Essentials’ founder Claire Mitchell says it wasn’t difficult finding that first big customer who aligned with her values and products.
Claire saw the need to diversify her customer base, but needed the right software solutions to service booming online orders, and connect with supply chains for delivery.
Claire came to AusIndustry’s Entrepreneurs’ Programme for support at several key stages since their 2009 start-up.
She believes that a strong relationship with AusIndustry has been a key driver of ECO. Modern Essential’s success.
Claire says AusIndustry provided an independent sounding board for technology options, enabling her to invest with confidence.
With AusIndustry’s help, ECO. Modern Essentials is now a thriving online business that exports to 16 countries, with a 54% return customer rate.
In 2019–20, ECO. Modern Essentials experienced a 170 per cent growth in revenue sales, and Claire is now eyeing off a $15 million annual turnover. Their brand new premise is testimony to Claire’s ‘think big’ vision.
We pushed because of AusIndustry. It gave us the courage to invest in technology and make a pivotal decision to also target the US market.
