Building Bush Tourism QLD

This program provides funding for new and enhanced tourism products that increase visitation to regional Queensland, outside south-east Queensland.

What do you get?

Funding between $50,000 and $200,000.

Who is this for?

QLD tourism operators.


Funding is available to support projects that improve the amenity and accessibility of social, community and tourism infrastructure to support regional communities and grow visitation, or that support the delivery of community and cultural experiences (new and continuing) that will attract both regional participation and visitors to the region.

Eligible projects and activities include, but are not limited to:

  • infrastructure for tourism attractions, including heritage railways, buildings, WWII bunkers, forts, accommodation
  • cultural institutions, including art galleries, museums
  • entertainment facilities
  • local infrastructure to support new/ongoing festivals and events
  • development or enhancement of natural assets, including BBQ/picnic facilities, boardwalks, lookouts, shelters, rail and walking trails.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • have an established tourism-related operating base in QLD
  • have an Australian business number (ABN)
  • be registered for goods and service tax (GST)
  • be located outside south-east QLD.
