Funding for research into the development of new RNA and mRNA based vaccines and therapeutics

Overview

There are 2 tiers of funding available:

Tier 1 – Early stage

• supports early stage RNA-based therapeutic research projects, including discovery, early-stage and pre-clinical research
• funding of up to $100,000 (GST exclusive).

Tier 2 – Fast track

• for RNA-based therapeutics projects that can demonstrate a clear pathway to translation and can secure development and commercialisation opportunities
• funding of up to $500,000 (GST exclusive).

Check if you can apply

Applicants must be one of the following entity types:

• an incorporated company registered with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission
• an incorporated association
• education body
• public health service
• other incorporated entity approved by the agency.

Additionally, applicants must:

• hold an active Australian business number (ABN)
• have appropriate insurance policies
• comply with any co-contribution requirements
• spend the majority of the grant funding in Victoria
• predominantly conduct and lead the research activities in Victoria.
