Overview
Funding is available to support tourism operators in Far North Queensland recover from the significant impacts of Tropical Cyclone Jasper.
Eligible expenses include:
- paying salaries and wages and paying creditors
- paying rent
- buying goods, for example fuel, to carry-on the tourism operation.
Check if you can apply
To be eligible, you must:
- own a tourism operation that was completely closed to trading from the date of the Tropical Cyclone Jasper disaster and remained closed after 11 March 2024 due to isolation or because their usual area of operation was isolated as a direct result of the cyclone
- be operating a tourism business in the defined disaster area
- hold an Australian business number (ABN) that was active at the time of the disaster
- be registered for goods and services tax (GST)
- intend to operate the tourism business in the defined disaster area
- demonstrate reasonable prospects for continuing the tourism operation.
