Overview

The Rural Landholder Grant has a 2-tiered payment structure:

  • tier 1 – an initial amount of up to $5,000 on the provision of evidence of direct damage
  • tier 2 – a subsequent amount of up to $20,000 on the provision of evidence of payment.

Funding can be used to help pay for the costs of the relief, clean-up and reinstatement of the primary production enterprise.

Check if you can apply

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • be a rural landholder (hold property of at least 10 hectares)
  • have a primary production enterprise located in a defined disaster area that has suffered direct damage as a result of the disaster
  • devote part of their labour to the enterprise
  • not receive the majority of income from primary production
  • earn no more than $180,000 per annum from off-farm income
  • have held an Australian business number (ABN) at the time of the disaster
  • have engaged in carrying on the enterprise when affected by the disaster event
  • intend to re-establish the primary production enterprise in the same community region, or sector as the defined disaster area
  • be primarily responsible for meeting the costs claimed in the applications.
