The Energy Efficient Communities Program Food and Beverage Manufacturing Business Grants are now open.

Eligible small and medium businesses in the sector can apply for grants between $10,000 and $25,000 for projects that improve energy efficiency. It means lower energy bills for business and lower emissions for the planet. Grants will be paid upfront with no co-contribution requirement.

Up to $19.984 million is available with a funding allocation for each state and territory. Grants will be awarded to eligible applicants on a first come, first served basis until the state or territory funding allocation is reached.

The grants will support eligible small and medium food and beverage manufacturers to complete energy efficiency projects such as:

  • installing submeters
  • replacing equipment with more energy efficient equipment
  • replacing gas boilers with heat pumps.

A full list of eligible projects can be found in the grant guidelines.

The Energy Efficient Communities Program has supported over 1,000 businesses and community organisations to conduct energy audits, upgrade equipment and improve their energy practices.

Applications for the Energy Efficient Communities Program Food and Beverage Manufacturing Business Grants close on 18 February 2022 (or earlier, if funding is exhausted).
