Each year the Australian Government honours Australia’s scientists, research-based innovators and science teachers through the Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science.

We are now seeking nominations for research-based innovators for the two prizes for the innovation sector:

  • A $250,000 Prime Minister’s Prize for Innovation for successful commercialisation of research
  • A $50,000 Prize for New Innovators recognising steps towards commercialising research

Prize recipients receive significant media coverage, with opportunities to showcase their commercial ventures on the national and international stage.

Nominate now to help us identify the 2021 recipients.

How do I nominate?

Nominations for the 2021 Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science are open until 9 March 2021.

To ensure nominations reflect the diversity within communities that the Prizes celebrate, we encourage you to consider nominating someone from a group traditionally underrepresented in science, such as women or Indigenous Australians, or someone from a regional or remote area.
