The Simplified Trade System Implementation Taskforce was established in July to coordinate, integrate and align cross-border trade reforms.

The Simplified Trade System will:

  • simplify Australia’s international trade regulations
  • modernise outdated ICT systems
  • strengthen Australia’s economic resilience.

This will cut red tape and simplify border processes to help Australian importers and exporters boost productivity and save time and money.

Can you help with research and engagement activities?

The Taskforce would like to speak to businesses who import and export goods, and their service providers to understand the current experience navigating the end to end trade processes and work with businesses to co-design a better future experience.

The Taskforce will be conducting various research and engagement activities across October and November 2021 and are currently seeking expressions of interest from businesses who would like to participate.

If you or someone in your business would like to get involved, email with your:

  • business name
  • contact details (phone number and email address)
  • a brief description of the goods you import or export
  • your role in the process.
