Overview

Rural Economic Development Grants provide funding to organisations and businesses to carry out projects which generate economic and employment opportunities related to primary production across rural and remote Queensland.

Eligible projects must:

  • be primary production related, including the development of new products or markets
  • generate jobs
  • provide value for money and significant economic benefit to a rural area.

The funding may be used for certain activities related to the project, including but not limited to:

  • capital expenditure on buildings, plant and equipment
  • purchase of consumables
  • travel and accommodation
  • training costs and technical support
  • salary and on-costs for staff working solely on the project.

Check if you can apply

To be eligible, you must:

  • be a medium-sized business, primary producer or an entity established to represent either primary producers or primary production enterprises
  • be able to match the funding requested
  • demonstrate sound prospects for long-term commercial viability
  • have the experience and qualifications necessary to successfully carry out the project.
