Overview

Financial assistance of up to $50,000 (ex GST) is available for eligible businesses in the defined disaster area. Owners of medium to large tourism operations, which have suffered direct damage as a result of the disaster, can access funding to contribute towards the costs of initial clean-up, repairs and reinstatement of tourism operations.

At the time of the event, the business must have been located in one of the following Local Government Authority areas:

  • Cairns Regional Council
  • Cassowary Coast Regional Council
  • Cook Shire Council
  • Douglas Shire Council
  • Hope Vale Aboriginal Shire Council
  • Mareeba Shire Council
  • Tablelands Regional Council
  • Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire Council
  • Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire Council.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • employ between 20 and 200 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • have an Australian business number (ABN)
  • be registered for goods and services tax (GST)
  • complete the funded activity on or before 28 June 2024.
