Overview
A 3-year registration fee exemption is available for new battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles first registered from 28 October 2021 and up to 30 June 2025.
There is no limit on the number of new battery electric or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles that can receive relief during the eligible time period, subject to the eligibility criteria being met.
Check if you can apply
To be eligible to apply, businesses or organisations must have a registered office or place of business in South Australia and must use the vehicle for business purposes.
For a vehicle to be eligible, it must be:
- a new battery electric vehicle or hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle registered for the first time on or after 28 October 2021
- valued below a price cap of $68,750 (inclusive of GST)
- registered in SA.
